I've been vegetarian for some years (weasel-speak for I don't remember how long) now. There are various reasons that someone might choose to forgo meat and animal products. Some people give up meat for animal welfare/ animal rights reasons. This is often referred to as ethical vegetarianism. Other people become veg*n for health related reasons (high cholesterol, digestion problems, weight management (HA), lactose intolerance, etc), or religious reasons. A few people have told me that they just don't care for the taste of meat. I still have no idea why my son is vegetarian. Apparently there are secret reasons too!
As you probably guessed, from the title, I'm veg*n for animal rights/animal welfare reasons. Want to know more about that? Onward to the animal rights area!
